  • Manage and direct the Accounting Department including, but not limited to the following areas: cash reconciliations, account statement reconciliations, check runs, credit and collection transactions, fixed asset activity, payroll, disbursement transactions, debt activity, recording of revenue and expenses, etc.
  • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents,

to ensure that all reports are correct.

  • Perform project cost forecasts/budgets, cost tracking, monitoring, and controls.
  • Responsible for timely monthly consolidated financial statements, payments, cash-flow management reporting for submission to the Finance and Accounting Manager.
  • Review and approve all Statement of Accounts (SOA) for billing to Clients and shall monitor that payments are made on time.
  • Perform cash flow forecasting, budgeting and working closely with heads/managers/supervisors in analyzing margins, variances, and cost analysis.
  • Support Finance and Accounting Manager in ensuring that inter-company cost allocations are

in line with management agreements and policies.

  • Establish and maintain systems for cost-sensitivity analysis and early-warning of cost overruns.
  • Work consultatively with the respective heads/managers/supervisors on cost reduction initiatives.
  • Assure compliance with the national and local corporate policies, regulations, and laws.
  • Responsible for the compliance of all taxes obligations.
  • Closely maintain and monitor the fixed assets system and conduct semi-annual physical inventory.
  • Adhere to internal and external deadlines.
  • Assist in annual budget preparations.
  • Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
  • Review and ensure all reports/documents are complete and concise prior to routing or submission to the Finance and Accounting Manager for approval.
  • Observe systematic process relative to the coming in and going out flow of communications in the Department.
  • Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

  • Accountancy, Management Accounting or Commerce graduate or any related courses.
  • 5 years or more work experience in supervisory and/or managerial capacity, preferably from a wholesale distribution and trucking company.
  • Proficient in at least one business accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, etc.
  • Excellent decision-making ability and analytical skills.
  • Pleasing personality and positive attitude.
  • Good communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Willing to work extended hours.
  • Applicants must be willing to work in Ma-a, Davao City.
