AVP for Academic Affairs (Must be an Engineering Graduate)

Administrative Assistants (Administration & Office Support)

The Vice President for Academic Affairs plays a pivotal role in providing leadership and direction in the academic programs and initiatives of the institution. This position requires a dynamic and visionary individual who can collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality education, uphold academic standards, and foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the academic community.

Responsibilities:

Academic Leadership: Provide strategic direction for the institution's academic programs in alignment with its mission, vision, and goals.

Curriculum Development: Oversee the design, development, and evaluation of curricula to ensure relevance, currency, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Faculty Development: Support the professional growth of faculty members through mentoring, training, and facilitating opportunities for research and scholarship.

Quality Assurance: Implement mechanisms for the continuous improvement of academic quality, including assessment, accreditation, and benchmarking practices.

Student Success: Collaborate with student services to enhance the overall student experience, focusing on retention, graduation rates, and academic support services.

Budget Oversight: Work closely with financial officers to develop and manage budgets related to academic programs, ensuring efficient resource allocation.

Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of institutional strategic plans, particularly regarding academic initiatives and expansion.

External Engagement: Foster partnerships with industry, government agencies, and other educational institutions to enhance academic offerings, research opportunities, and student placement.

Compliance and Regulation: Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards affecting academic affairs, ensuring full compliance.

Report to the President: Provide regular reports, updates, and recommendations to the President regarding academic affairs, budgetary needs, and strategic planning.

Qualifications:

Education: A Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Education, a related field, or its equivalent is required.

Experience: Significant experience in academic administration, preferably in higher education institutions, with a proven track record of leadership and innovation.

Licensure in Engineering: An active professional license in Engineering is strongly preferred, demonstrating a deep understanding of engineering education and industry standards.

Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and implement a strategic vision for academic affairs that aligns with institutional goals and advances educational excellence.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders including faculty, students, staff, and external partners.

Collaborative Leadership: Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative leadership style that promotes teamwork, creativity, and inclusivity.

Analytical Thinking: Proficiency in data analysis and evidence-based decision-making to drive academic program improvements and resource allocation.

Ethical Standards: Commitment to upholding academic integrity, ethical conduct, and diversity, equity, and inclusion principles within the academic community.

Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Philippine higher education laws, regulations, and accreditation processes.

Innovative Mindset: A forward-thinking approach to education, embracing new technologies, pedagogies, and trends in higher education.
