Job Purpose:

The Maintenance Engineering Technician is responsible for effective implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance program on equipment and facilities within the food manufacturing and technical services facility.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of plant operations.

Goals and Objectives:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure compliance to sanitary equipment and facility design.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of machinery and facilities.

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to:
Maintenance Engineering Supervisor

  • Works closely with Maintenance Engineering Crew, Machine Operator, Production Foreman, QA specialist, Sanitation Crew

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues promptly.
  • Document maintenance activities, including repairs and replacement of parts.
  • Associate with engineers to implement improvements in equipment design.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and malfunctions promptly.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment in the maintenance area.

Key Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Technical degree or certification in maintenance, mechatronics, or related field.
  • Previous experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in food manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols in an industrial setting.
