About The Role
The Assistant Bookkeeper will assist the Bookkeeper with daily banking reconciliations, fortnightly payroll management, and various administrative duties for all entities of the client.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Effectiveness:
- Demonstrates the technical skills necessary for completing assigned responsibilities, particularly with Excel and Xero.
- Reliable in following through on responsibilities.
- Takes ownership of tasks, dedicating the necessary time to complete them.
- Completes required tasks on time.
- Communicates with management promptly and effectively.
- Enter SNAP and SRSS banking transactions daily.
- Process SNAP and SRSS invoices as requested.
- Check and record Personal Trainer rent payments weekly.
- Enter all new employees into the system weekly.
- Process wages, salaries, leave applications, commencements, terminations, salary increments, superannuation, and any payroll variations for SNAP staff fortnightly.
- Complete termination entries in Xero and Excel fortnightly.
- Ensure compliance with taxation and superannuation changes related to payroll.
- Ensure payroll processing complies with legal, ethical, and professional standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Xero accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial records.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of payroll processing and relevant legislation is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and learn new tasks as required.
- Fast and reliable wired internet connection of not less than 5 Mbps
- Quiet, private home office free from noise background or distraction
- Updated computer (desktop or laptop), excellent quality headset with microphone, and a working webcam
