The Property Accountant is responsible for providing administrative and accounting support to the Finance Manager of the Property Group. Responsibilities listed below, but includes assisting the finance manager with day-to-day tasks and projects, invoice workflows within the business, and month-end/year-end accounting procedures.

  • Major Responsibilities

Monthly Reporting

  • Assisting with statutory reporting and income tax requirements across various entity types (Trusts, Company's, Partnerships)
  • Prepare, maintain, and oversee Australian and NZ compliance requirements
  • Assisting with forecasting and measuring against monthly performance metrics

Leadership

  • Assist in business partnering with internal and external stakeholders to drive results
  • Constantly demonstrate a leadership style that is consistent with SPG and Finance values
  • Ensure integrity of work

General

  • Assisting with preparation of data and insights for commercial tenders
  • Identifying areas of process improvement and assisting with implementing change
  • Other functions and support as required from time to time
  • Meet required timeframes
  • Other responsibilities as directed by the Finance Manager
  • Seek and respond to feedback
  • Ensure own development needs are reviewed and meet
  • Key Selection Criteria
  • Degree in accounting or a related field (business/commerce)
  • Experience working in industry accounting (10+ years' experience)
  • Statutory, tax and compliance knowledge across Australia and NZ
  • Strong analytical focus and commercial acumen
  • Attention to detail and being inquisitive
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to mentor and positively influence team members
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude
