Role

The Global Compliance Testing (GCT) Regulatory Change Validation (RCV) team conducts reviews to validate implementation effectiveness of new regulations and/or changes to existing regulations. The Sr Team Lead provides support for GCT RCV programs, including researching regulatory requirements, identifying issues, reporting, training and other duties assigned. Detects and advises management of potential compliance issues. Responsible for the assignment of work to the GCT - RCV team. Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to direct reports. Ensures timely and accurate service delivery of the GCT - RCV Team's service delivery of validation reviews. The Sr Team Lead can or may also be tasked to do all in-scope activities under the RCV program.

The Key Responsibilities Of The Role Include

  • Provides day-to-day supervision to a team, including coaching on performance, coordinating activities, checking on quality and work progress.
  • Organizes the work of the team, assigns tasks, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work.
  • Monitors and reviews procedures and practices of partners to assure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and adherence to internal policies
  • Announce upcoming validation reviews and communicate results of reviews by distributing validation reports to key stakeholders.
  • Resolves problems, identifies the most appropriate solution and may establish new techniques to ensure the team is able to meet its objectives
  • Has direct impact on the quality of the tasks performed or services provided by the team
  • May recommend appropriate procedural changes
  • Assists in the development of the GCT RCV program
  • Tracks Key Performance Indicators and assist Manager with reporting metrics
  • Reviews and interprets laws, regulations and internal policies/procedures for the purpose of developing appropriate testing plans. Develops testing scope to validate compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Direct liaison with Business Unit Managers and Risk and Compliance Partners
  • Delivers a work product that requires less revision
  • Participates in all applicable training
  • Uses judgment to identify, troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems
  • Guided by policies and procedures, impacts the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team and its contribution to the department

Skills/Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
  • Technical skills / systems knowledge (e.g., Microsoft; Power BI)
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, usually acquired through formal education or experience, is preferred to review regulatory requirements, Compliance policies/procedures to monitor compliance
  • Analytical and communication skills required to analyze and summarize information
  • Leadership and organizational skills are needed to prioritize assignments and provide feedback to staff and to coordinate compliance activities
  • Applies operational business practices and coordinates with other closely related areas to improve efficiency
  • Explains information, conveys performance expectations and handles sensitive issue
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required to analyze and summarize information

The Successful Candidate Would Benefit From Having

  • At least 5 years' experience of providing day-to-day supervision to a team
  • College or University degree
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Has formal supervisory responsibilities; coordinates resources and sets daily priorities to meet operational objectives
