Job Description:

I. Job Purpose

The position works collaboratively with the SLAMCI Sales Teams to identify suitable training solutions to business problems. The Training and Licensing Manager evaluates, delivers, and conducts a range of training and development solutions, physical and/or virtual to advisor candidates to prepare them to take the SEC Examination for Certified Investment Solicitors (CISols), selling fundamentals, and development programs with focus on investment for sales professionals.The Manager is expected to equip candidates with various mutual fund concepts, regulations, and Sun Life Asset Management Company's (SLAMCI) programs and initiatives, and take charge of licensing of CISols. S/he manages the Training and Licensing Team of SLAMCI.

II. Major Accountabilities

A. People Management

  • Manages the Training Analyst/Supervisor and Licensing Associate/Analyst/Supervisor to ensure SLAMCI Goals of relevant conducting quality training activities, and meeting coded advisors targets are efficiently executed.
  • Handle logistics, schedules, and operations of SLAMCI training programs, including monitoring of budgets.

B. Training

  • Oversee the implementation of basic, intermediate and advance advisor training programs to the Sales Teams of SLAMCI.
  • Coordinate, organize, and conduct SLAMCI training-related activities, including Fund I, Fund II, Mutual Funds 101, Be MF-Ready, Rookie Meet and Greet, Back to Basics, HABIT/Sunny Solutions, physical and and/or virtual as required by SLAMCI. The role also involves cascading other modules and programs, as deemed necessary.
  • Ensure that the conduct of training and training materials are up-to-date and relevant to ensure quality implementation of training activities.

C. Licensing

  • Manage SLAMCI licensing-related activities such as (1) CISol License Application, (2) Coding of CISols, (3)Post-Coding Processing of CISols, (4) CISol License Cancellation, and (5) CISol License Validation and Renewal
  • Responsible for the following:
    • Accuracy of processing and inputting of advisor data and information
    • Meeting the newly-coded advisor target of SLAMCI
    • Communicating with the regulator (SEC) for any licensing-related concerns

III. Specialized Knowledge

  • Possesses effective communication skills
  • Excellent in planning and organization, oral and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation/platform skills
  • Understands investments/mutual funds, and sales concepts
  • Detail-Oriented
  • Willing to travel

IV. Education and Experience

  • University degree in business, management, economics, finance
  • Preferably three (3) to five (5) years managerial experience in a financial services company. Relevant training experience, and/or exposure to mutual funds/UITFs/investments will be an advantage.
