Senior Loan Processor with the intent to move up as a Manager

Our company is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Loan Processor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an extensive knowledge in Australian lending process, a strong understanding of the regulations and excellent eye for details and organizational skills.

The Loan Processor will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with lender requirements, coordinating with clients and internal teams, and facilitating a smooth and efficient application process. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of lending options, compliance, and settlement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Process a high volume of mortgage loan applications from start to finish, including coordinating with borrowers, real estate agents, and third-party vendors to ensure timely and accurate closing.
  • Review loan applications and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy, verifying information such as employment history, income, assets, and credit reports.
  • Communicate with credit team, lenders, and customers to resolve any issues that arise during the loan application process.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures, throughout the loan lifecycle.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to borrowers, responding promptly to inquiries and keeping them informed of the status of their loan application.
  • Aftercare or rate review for existing customers

Key Responsibilities:

Loan Structure Review

  • Conduct a comprehensive review of lending options, pricing structures, and valuations during the initial phase of the loan application process.
  • Assess borrowing capacity and verify servicing details to ensure compliance with lender requirements.
  • Prepare draft emails outlining lending options, product comparisons, and filter questions for further clarification.
  • Provide lending suggestions and filter client inquiries during the initial suggestion phase.

Application Processing and Compliance

  • Prepare compliance documentation drafts for audit purposes during the second stage of the loan application.
  • Organize and add required documents to the Application Online (AOL) system in preparation for loan processing.
  • Draft comments within AOL, ensuring compliance and completeness of the application.
  • Coordinate the sending of the application to clients for review and signatures.
  • Perform a final check on all documents to confirm adherence to lender policies before sending the application to the client.
  • Collect and add all necessary documents to AOL for a comprehensive record.
  • Request Verification of Identity (VOI) as needed and send it to clients during the application review phase.
  • Order valuations and update pricing requests if necessary during the application review phase.
  • Facilitate pricing escalations when required during the application review phase.
  • Lodge the loan application with the broker, ensuring all documents are in order.
  • Follow up with the lender to address any outstanding conditions.
  • Request and collect additional conditions from the client as necessary.
  • Forward collected conditions to the lender for further processing.
  • Distribute home guarantee scheme declarations to clients, ensuring signatures and return to the bank.
  • Confirm loan approval with clients via email upon successful completion of the application process.
  • Save the unconditional approval letter in the designated folder for record-keeping.

Construction Phase

  • Manage construction progress payments as required, ensuring timely disbursement according to the lender's guidelines.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in loan processing or related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of loan processing procedures, regulations, and requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed departmental goals and objectives.
  • Experienced in Mercury, ApplyOnline and different servicing calculators.
  • Experience in BrokerEngine is a plus

Management and Training

  • Train and mentor new loan processors to develop their skills and ensure they are meeting company standards.
  • Oversee the loan pipeline and ensure loan files are in compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review loan files for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with all necessary requirements.
  • Monitor workflow and productivity to ensure departmental goals are met or exceeded.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to facilitate the loan process.
  • Create reporting metrics and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes.
