A newly opened HR Manager job has just become available at a startup company.
About the HR Manager Role:
This position's primary purpose is to establish the HR operations, including payroll, talent management, and administrative tasks. You will be key in creating and implementing standard procedures and an employee handbook. Your focus will extend to managing onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth start for new hires, and leading impactful training programmes for team development. In essence, you play a crucial part in simplifying HR processes, enhancing the employee experience, and contributing to the success of our startup through effective talent management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain standardised operating procedures (SOPs) and an employee handbook to guide consistent practices
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with overall business goals to enhance organisational effectiveness
- Drive impactful training programmes aimed at fostering continuous employee development
- Ensure legal compliance and provide decision support through the analysis of HR metrics
- Lead the onboarding process to create a seamless and positive experience for new hires
- Manage HR operations, including payroll, talent management, and benefits, to ensure efficiency
- Oversee a performance appraisal system that encourages and recognises high performance
To excel in this HR Manager role, you should possess experience in overseeing the entire HR spectrum, including building, upscaling, and establishing HR processes.
Key Requirements:
- 8 - 10 years of overall experience full spectrum in HR (HR strategic, HR operations and general affairs)
- Advanced knowledge of total compensation, employee grading, salary benchmarking and HR compliance
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and evaluate employee programmes effectively
- Ideally coming from a startup or a fast-paced company background
- Proficient in labour law administration and implementation, HRIS, and ATS
- Proven track record in managing the performance appraisal systems that drive high performance and achievement of organisational goals
- Strong expertise in employee engagement and culture management
This position plays a pivotal role in the establishment of a high-performance culture and serves as the catalyst for initiating the HR function within the region. By actively contributing to the development and implementation of HR processes, you directly impact the organisational culture, fostering an environment that encourages and supports optimal performance. This role not only involves laying the foundation for effective human resources management but also holds the key to shaping a workplace culture that promotes excellence and success in the region.
