Technical Quote Specialist

The role
The Technical Quote Specialist role is the key customer touch point within the Comstor
Product Sales/Internal Account Management team and is responsible for ensuring our partners
‘first encounter’ with our business is one of exemplary service with a strong focus on technical
excellence.
The role will require a high level of professionalism and the ability to juggle multiple phone
calls and tasks whilst ensuring a consistent level of support for our customers. The Technical
Quote Specialist must ensure all customer responses are within set SLA’s and our customers’
expectations are met and exceeded for all queries, issues and order resolution.
Responsibilities and duties
This list of responsibilities capture the primary tasks, other tasks may be required as directed
by your manager.
• First point of contact via phone and email for all customer technical enquiries
• Providing Technical Quote Specialist support on all technologies and products to
channel partners and internal resources.
•To ensure customer satisfaction through the timely provision of accurate information and quotes and resolution of customer concerns.
•Providing ‘best price’ quotations to our partners, using an ERP, in-house quoting tools, deal registration and deal management processes.
•Generate and provide customer quotations within agreed service level agreements with a focus on accuracy and with an attention to detail.
•To maintain exceptional customer service, and consistently strive to exceed customer expectations.
•Educate clients on the best available solution, tools or collateral.
•To escalate customer or vendor concerns promptly.
•Ensure up-sell opportunities are explored with customer quotations.
•To proactively follow up on customer enquiries.
•Attend technical training on products across vendor portfolio and achieve set certification requirements.
•Proactively manage Cisco requests within ticketing system. Ensuring correct categorisation and workflow maintained

Qualifications and education
•Relevant tertiary qualification/technology certifications & post-sales experience
•Cisco certifications highly regarded
Experience, skills, and knowledge
•Technical knowledge of convergence, storage, data centre, infrastructure, security, networking, virtualisation & cloud technologies.
•Previous experience in an inside sales or pre-sales role.
•Commercial acumen - understands margin and uplift calculations and can apply accordingly.
•Computer literacy and intermediate skill level of MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
•Sense of urgency and initiative.
•Strong interpersonal skills: ability to build strong relationships quickly and effectively both over the phone and face to face.
•Excellent time management and administrative skills with attention to detail and proactive follow-up
