Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Calculate quantities of materials, labor, and equipment needed for construction projects.
  • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, bid proposals, and tender documents.
  • Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations for accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site engineers to align estimates with actual site conditions.
  • Track and update cost databases for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Assist in value engineering to optimize costs without compromising quality.
  • Provide support in contract negotiations and budget monitoring throughout project implementation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (licensed Civil Engineer preferred).
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in estimating, preferably in the construction or retrofitting industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costing.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Planswift, or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
