JOB SUMMARY:

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily manufacturing operations to ensure products are produced efficiently, on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. This role involves supervising production teams, optimizing production processes, coordinating with other departments, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and safety within the facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, organize, and control production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Supervise and lead production staff, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to company policies and safety regulations.
  • Monitor production output, materials usage, and equipment performance to achieve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure that production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are consistently met.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to minimize waste, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
  • Coordinate with the Procurement and Inventory departments to ensure the availability of raw materials and supplies.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance to maintain compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on production performance, equipment utilization, and manpower requirements.
  • Ensure all production activities comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Train and develop production staff to promote skill growth and teamwork.
  • Participate in budget planning, cost control, and forecasting activities for the production department.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance team to ensure all machines and equipment are properly maintained and downtime is minimized.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement projects such as Lean Manufacturing or 5S initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing management role.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of production management principles, quality control standards, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in production planning tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in implementing process improvements or Lean Manufacturing practices is an advantage.
