The Accounting Assistant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the company by ensuring accurate and timely recording, organizing, and analysis of financial data. The role focuses on maintaining accounting records, assisting in financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations. This position is purely accounting-focused and does not involve treasury or cash-handling duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable Support

  • Record and process supplier invoices and verify supporting documents.

  • Monitor outstanding payables and ensure accurate recording of liabilities.

  • Accounts Receivable Monitoring

  • Record sales journal entries based on validated reports from the sales team.

  • Reconcile customer accounts and follow up on documentation for discrepancies.

  • Journal Entries and Reconciliations

  • Prepare journal vouchers and ensure proper documentation for all entries.

  • Perform monthly account reconciliations, including general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Assist in the review of intercompany transactions and ensure proper classification..

  • Document Control and Record-Keeping

  • Maintain and file accounting records in an organized manner.

  • Ensure accounting documentation is complete, accurate, and readily accessible for review.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy
  • Candidate must have at least 1 year of experience
  • Operational knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Able to work independently and maintain confidentiality of financial data
