Your Role
As a
Licensed Medical Coder (Out-Patient)
, you will be responsible for assigning accurate medical codes to outpatient medical records to ensure proper documentation, billing, and compliance. This role focuses on services provided in clinics, ambulatory care, and outpatient facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review outpatient medical records and documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes following official guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate coding to support billing and reimbursement processes.
  • Work with healthcare providers to clarify coding-related documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with payer-specific and regulatory requirements.
  • Protect patient confidentiality in line with HIPAA standards.
  • Generate coding reports and support audit processes as needed.

What You Need
Non-negotiables / Minimum Requirements

  • Active coding certification (CPC, CCS, or CCA).
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in outpatient medical coding.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations.
  • High-level English proficiency (spoken and written).

Preferred skills/experience:

  • Prior experience in US healthcare or payer environment.
  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
