Your Role
As a
Licensed Medical Coder (In-Patient)
, you will be responsible for accurately reviewing, analyzing, and assigning standard medical codes to inpatient medical records to ensure proper documentation, billing, and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review inpatient medical records to ensure coding accuracy and completeness.
  • Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes in accordance with official guidelines.
  • Ensure documentation meets payer and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation as needed.
  • Support compliance audits by providing coding expertise.
  • Safeguard patient health information in compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Generate reports and maintain records of coding activities.

What You Need
Non-negotiables / Minimum Requirements

  • Active coding certification (CPC, CCS, or CCA).
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in inpatient medical coding.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding guidelines.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations.
  • High-level English proficiency (spoken and written).

Preferred skills/experience:

  • Prior experience with US healthcare providers or payers.
  • Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and accuracy in coding.
