JOB SUMMARY

The Business Process Automation Specialist supports a New Zealand-based company by leading process improvement initiatives. This role is central to driving end-to-end workflow optimisation across the organisation.

We're looking for someone with experience in managing teams and a strong sense of initiative, someone who can take ownership of process improvements rather than wait for direction. This person will be the go-to expert for reviewing workflows, leading task execution, and ensuring the successful delivery of automation projects using tools like Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft Dynamics (preferred), and AI technologies (e.g., ChatGPT).

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Automation Solution Design & Delivery

  • Map current-state processes and identify automation opportunities

  • Build low-code/no-code solutions with Power Automate, Power Apps, and Dataverse

  • Develop dashboards in Power BI to surface real-time metrics and KPIs

2. Systems Integration

  • Connect Power Platform solutions with other line-of-business systems via APIs and custom connectors

  • Ensure data integrity and security across all integrations

3. Process Improvement & Governance

  • Apply Lean/Six-Sigma or BPM methodologies to eliminate waste and standardise workflows

  • Establish governance standards, documentation templates, and reusable components

4. AI & Intelligent Automation Enablement

  • Incorporate generative AI (e.g., Copilot and ChatGPT) for decision support, knowledge retrieval, and smart routing

  • Evaluate and pilot new Microsoft Copilot features and other emerging AI tools

5. Stakeholder Engagement & Training

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications

  • Conduct user acceptance testing, training, and post-deployment hyper-care

6. Continuous Optimisation

  • Monitor solution performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements.

  • Track ROI, accuracy, throughput, and user satisfaction metrics

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in business process improvement, workflow automation, or systems integration

  • Proven experience leading teams or managing cross-functional projects

Skills

  • Solid proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint)

  • Experience building solutions with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse)

  • Familiarity with APIs, custom connectors, and integrating disparate systems Experience developing dashboards and data visualizations (e.g. Power BI)

  • Understanding of process improvement frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma, BPM)

  • Capability to use AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Copilot) for automating content, decision support, or data retrieval

  • Basic knowledge of bookkeeping, financial management (e.g. via Xero), and CRM systems is a plus

— Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900)

— Power Platform Solution Architect Expert (PL-600)

Strongly Preferred

— Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300)

— Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400)

— Microsoft Certified: Power Automate RPA Developer Associate (PL-500)

  • Desktop / Laptop with Intel i5 (or equivalent) CPU, Windows 10 OS (or higher).

  • Minimum 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD.

  • Stable internet: ≥ 50 Mbps.
