Summary

As a Full-stack Software Engineer at ShipCalm, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining the software and digital systems required to operate a fast-paced e-commerce physical logistics business.  This position reports directly to the CTO.

Role Accountability & Functions

  • Design, develop and maintain software and architecture in collaboration with data architecture.
  • Design, build and maintain integrations to 3rd-party systems.
  • Customer solutions: implement customer-specific scripting and configuration, together with external systems integrations.
  • Interact directly with customers as-needed to gather requirements and debug any  problems that arise.
  • Act as tier-2 support for our tier-1 support and warehouse teams when technical issues arise.
  • Actively manage backlog and prioritize work to maximize customer satisfaction and value.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders internally to understand problems and manage prioritization of work.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Daily development work in Javascript/Typescript.
  • Attend daily and weekly meetings.
  • Full responsibility for the stability and maintenance of all your deployed code.
  • Highly responsive to critical failures and tier-2 support.
  • Report to work in a regular and timely manner.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience level:

  • Minimum 5 years experience working extensively with Javascript/Typescript.

  • Experience working with production environments that directly impact customers is required.
  • Video conferencing directly with customers to gather requirements and problem-solve is a requirement.
  • Experience building or working with logistics, warehousing, e-commerce, retail, or related software systems is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with SQL is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with any/all of the following is preferred: git, docker, microservices, GCP, data warehousing, distributed systems, API design and  integrations.

  • Education level:

  • Minimum B.S. or B.A. required in a STEM field.

  • An advanced degree is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal, is required.
  • Ability to prioritize a variety of tasks in a manner that enables timely completion.

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands

  • Working in a seated or standing position up to and exceeding eight (8) hours per day.
  • Working at a computer.

Schedule and Location

  • Schedule: This is a full-time position scheduled to work M-F 8-5pm PST, subject to change by business demands.
  • Location: This position is a remote work position.

Compensation

  • $15-20 / hour, DOE
