Role summary

Build, ship, and operate web applications end to end across frontend and backend. Work with product, design, and DevOps to deliver secure, scalable features.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and implement REST or GraphQL services and responsive UIs.
  • Own features from technical design to production rollout and observability.
  • Write clean, testable code with unit, integration, and e2e coverage.
  • Design schemas and optimize data access in SQL and basic NoSQL.
  • Implement authentication and authorization, follow OWASP practices.
  • Add logs, metrics, and traces, then troubleshoot production issues.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.

Minimum qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional software development.
  • One backend stack: or Java or Python.
  • One frontend framework: React or Vue or Angular with modern JS or TS.
  • Strong SQL; familiarity with MongoDB or Redis.
  • Git, CI/CD, Docker.
  • Working knowledge of AWS or Azure or GCP and basic IaC.

Preferred

  • Microservices, event driven design, and real-time use cases.
  • GraphQL and WebSockets.
  • Secure coding, SAST or DAST.
  • Performance tuning and cost-aware design.

Tools and stack

React + TypeScript, or Java or Python, PostgreSQL or MySQL, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes (intro), GitHub or GitLab CI, Terraform (intro), OpenTelemetry, Prometheus or Grafana, ELK or EFK.

KPIs / success metrics

Lead time for changes, change failure rate, MTTR, story throughput, defect escape rate, API or page latency and error budgets.

Initial screening questions

  • Walk through a recent end-to-end feature you shipped. What tradeoffs did you make?
  • How do you structure a React + API project for scale?
  • Describe a production incident you debugged and the signals that led to the fix.

Optional skills task

Build a small CRUD app (API + UI) with authentication. Include tests, a Dockerfile, and a short README explaining design choices.
