JOB DESCRIPTION – SENIOR FLOORING ESTIMATOR & SALES CONSULTANT (MeasureSquare)

(45 hours per week, 1-hour unpaid lunch)

• Operations Manager (commercial performance, accuracy, margin discipline)
• Customer Success Manager (pipeline management, closing performance, customer experience)

Eco Lawn is one of New Zealand's leading suppliers and installers of high-quality synthetic turf. We operate a highly systemised, technology-led business where accuracy, consistency, and commercial discipline matter.

While synthetic turf is conceptually similar to flooring, our work involves significantly more complexity. Most projects include excavation, basecourse preparation, drainage, edging systems, underlays, and specialist installations such as playground surfacing, sports fields, and putting greens.

We are expanding our commercial estimating capability and are looking for an experienced MeasureSquare-based estimator who can convert complex site information into accurate, sellable quotes and support deals through to close.

This is a long-term role for someone who thinks clearly, prices accurately, and takes ownership of outcomes.

About the Role

This role sits at the intersection of technical estimating and sales support.

Your primary responsibility is producing accurate, defensible estimates using MeasureSquare. Your secondary responsibility is helping customers understand those quotes, answering questions, handling objections, and progressing jobs to sale.

This is not a data-entry role. It requires judgement, spatial reasoning, and commercial awareness.

You will:

• Produce detailed MeasureSquare take-offs from plans, photos, videos, and site information.
• Build multi-layer estimates covering excavation, aggregate, compaction, drainage, edging, underlays, and turf systems.
• Apply different construction assemblies depending on site conditions and product requirements.
• Translate technical estimates into clear, customer-facing quotes.
• Communicate confidently with customers to explain scope, pricing, and assumptions.
• Support sales progression from quote through to confirmed sale.
• Maintain clean, accurate CRM records including notes, documents, and estimating assumptions.

Key Responsibilities
MeasureSquare Estimating and Take-Off

• Complete accurate MeasureSquare take-offs for residential and commercial projects.
• Estimate excavation volumes, disposal, and site preparation requirements.
• Quantify and cost aggregate layers, compaction allowances, and drainage systems.
• Price edging systems including timber and aluminium profiles.
• Estimate specialist works such as retaining walls, playground surfacing, and putting greens (cups, flags, specialist infill).
• Clearly document assumptions, exclusions, and risks within estimates.

Quoting and Sales Support

• Prepare professional, accurate quotes aligned with MeasureSquare outputs.
• Explain pricing, scope, and construction logic to customers in plain English.
• Handle price and scope questions confidently and professionally.
• Support deal progression and closing in collaboration with the sales team.
• Assist with variations and scope clarifications when required.

Systems and Communication

• Maintain accurate CRM data including notes, plans, photos, and videos.
• Coordinate with operations to ensure estimates align with delivery reality.
• Follow established workflows while flagging issues or improvements proactively.

Required Skills and Experience (Must-Have)

• Proven, hands-on experience using MeasureSquare in a commercial environment.
• Multiple years actively producing estimates in MeasureSquare.
• Background in flooring estimation, carpet take-offs, or construction-related estimating.
• Strong numerical accuracy and spatial reasoning skills.
• Confident English speaker, comfortable discussing technical details with customers.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.

If MeasureSquare is not a core strength, this role is not a fit.

Preferred Experience

• Experience estimating complex, multi-layer construction systems.
• Background in landscaping, civil works, construction, or trade-based services.
• Prior involvement in sales support or customer-facing quoting roles.
• Experience working within structured CRM and estimating workflows.
