Job Title: Remote Bookkeeper / Billing & Sales Tax Specialist

Location: Remote

Schedule: EST | 20–40 hours per week

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Remote Bookkeeper to support our growing back-office operations. This role will focus on invoicing, accounts receivable, collections, and—most importantly—monthly and quarterly state sales tax filings as we continue to expand into additional states.

This position will start at approximately 20–40 hours per week and is expected to grow as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage customer invoicing, including annual subscription billing
  • Handle accounts receivable and follow up on collections
  • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online
  • Prepare and file monthly and quarterly state sales tax returns across multiple states
  • Reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data
  • Coordinate with management regarding billing issues and financial reporting
  • Maintain organized documentation for audits and compliance
  • Support general back-office and billing operations as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably for a U.S.-based company
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online
  • Experience with multi-state sales tax filing (required)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Comfortable handling recurring and annual billing models

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with subscription-based or SaaS businesses
  • Familiarity with U.S. state tax compliance tools and platforms
  • Prior experience supporting a growing or scaling business
