JOB SUMMARY:

With the guidance of the DPO, the Compliance Officer for Privacy is responsible for guiding the affiliates and or stores in implementing data privacy management programs, educating employees about data compliance, training members of staff who are involved in processing data, and carrying out regular security audits in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012. He/she shall guide affiliates to ensure that the organization's policies and programs are in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and codes of practice.

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists the DPO in the management and monitoring of data privacy compliance of the affiliates and stores

  2. Assists the DPO in guiding the affiliates and stores with their Privacy Impact Assessments

  3. Conducts Data Privacy orientations

  4. Conducts internal audits

  5. Maintain records of all data processing systems and data privacy activities carried out by the affiliates and stores

  6. ensure proper data breach and security incident management by the PIC or PIP, including the latter's preparation and submission to the NPC of reports and other documentation concerning security incidents or data breaches within the prescribed period;

  7. serve as the representative of the DPO and the contact person of the PIC or PIP vis-à-vis data subjects, the NPC and other authorities in all matters concerning data privacy or security issues or concerns and the PIC or PIP;

  8. get directions from and provide timely reports to DPO

  9. ensure the interest of data privacy and security and uphold the rights of the data subjects.

III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  1. Education/Experience:

Academic: BS Degree in in Legal, Finance, Business, IT or related fields is preferred.

Experience: Preferably two (2) years related work around compliance to the DPA of 2012.

Licensure: N/A

Certification: Data Privacy Trainings preferred but not required

  1. Skills and Abilities:

a. Project management skills

b. Process assessment and flowcharting

c. Risk assessment

d. Contracts review

e. Presentation and reports

f. Proficient in MS Office Suite of products including MS Word, Excel, Power Point and any Flowcharting program

g. Can work diligently and able to discreetly handle sensitive information
