Credit and Collection Assistant

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Credit and Collection Associate to join our finance team. In this role, you will assist with managing customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining healthy relationships with clients while minimizing bad debt. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to resolving credit issues.
Responsibilities:
- Account Management: Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely payments, accuracy, and proper documentation.
- Collection Support: Assist in the collection of overdue accounts, following up with clients via phone, email, or mail to ensure payments are received promptly.
- Credit Analysis: Review and analyze customer credit applications, making recommendations for credit limits and payment terms.
- Customer Communication: Respond to customer inquiries regarding their accounts, payment status, and any discrepancies.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of collections activities, payment plans, and customer communications.
- Dispute Resolution: Assist with resolving billing disputes, ensuring customer satisfaction while protecting the company's interests.
- Reporting: Assist with generating reports on accounts receivable, aging balances, and collection efforts for management review.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales and Customer Service teams to resolve payment issues and improve the customer experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferably with BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or any business related course.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience with credit and collections or any financial related role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and collections processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with accounting software is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
