The Product Merchandiser is a strategic role responsible for analyzing sales data, sourcing and procuring new products, updating product systems, and maintaining planograms for effective product placement. This role requires a mix of analytical skills, creativity, and attention to detail to ensure that products are attractively displayed, competitively priced, and consistently available to meet customer needs.

1. Sales Analysis & Product Sourcing

  • Identify the 10 least saleable items weekly.
  • Recommend suitable replacement items for approval during weekly meetings.
  • Phase out underperforming products and coordinate their replacement with new incoming items.

2. Sourcing & Procurement

  • Source new merchandise from reputable suppliers based on market trends and customer demand.
  • Coordinate and fulfill corporate orders to meet client requirements immediately.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of inventory to maintain consistent product availability.

3. Costing & Price Control

  • Calculate product pricing and submit for finance approval prior to implementation.

  • Apply cost control measures:

  • Minimum 10% margin for fresh/perishable items (shelf life ≤ 7 days).

  • Minimum 30% margin for regular items (shelf life ≥ 3 months).
  • Apply pricing rules (round off to nearest tenth; minimum SRP ₱20).

4. Product Updates & System Integration

  • Record approved products in the GDrive master rate sheet.
  • Encode product details (cost, SRP, supplier, PAR value) into company systems.
  • Update product buttons across the Vending Management System (VMS), Hub POS, and product catalog for consistency.
  • Ensure seamless integration of new products into systems for accurate tracking.

5. Planogram Development & Maintenance

  • Maintain the initial planogram for product deployment.
  • Develop flexible planograms for machines with dynamic sales needs to optimize results.

  • Manage planogram cycles:

  • Initial planogram – 30-day trial period.

  • Flexible planogram – Continuous rotation of bottom 10 items with new products.
