FDAS Technician (Fire Detection and Alarm System Technician)

Job Description

The FDAS Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Fire Detection and Alarm Systems in various project sites. The role ensures that all FDAS components are functioning properly and comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install FDAS devices such as smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual pull stations, alarm bells, and control panels.
• Conduct testing and commissioning of FDAS to ensure full system functionality.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on FDAS equipment.
• Troubleshoot wiring, device faults, and system errors.
• Prepare and submit service reports, inspection findings, and recommendations.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients for site activities.
• Ensure all work complies with fire safety codes, building standards, and company policies.
• Assist in system upgrades, expansions, and integration with other safety systems (CCTV, access control, etc.).
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of tools and equipment.
• Attend safety orientations, training sessions, and toolbox meetings.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of any technical/vocational course related to Electronics, Electrical, or IT.
• With experience in FDAS, low-voltage systems, or related field (preferred but not required).
• Knowledge in reading and interpreting electrical plans and wiring diagrams.
• Basic understanding of electrical principles and fire safety standards.
• Willing to work on-site and travel to different project locations.
• Physically fit and able to work in fast-paced environments.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
