The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the housekeeping operations in Brentwood Suites properties. He sets the standards in accordance with the Hotel and ensures its implementation by conducting regular Housekeeping audits.

Detailed Job description:

  • Maintains quality standards of cleanliness, orderliness, and sanitation in all areas
  • Conducts regular inspection of housekeeping's areas of responsibility - checking the quality of cleaning; ensuring that all areas are free from safety hazards and; checking if anything needs repair or corrective measures.
  • Ensures that fixtures and furniture are in their rightful places
  • Monitors and supervises the proper use, storage, and maintenance of cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies
  • Checks and maintains par stock requirements & supervises regular inventory of cleaning supplies and other Housekeeping items including linens and guestroom supplies.
  • Reports to management all unusual incidents and accidents
  • Hires, trains, coaches, and supervises all Housekeeping personnel and conducts performance evaluation
  • Conducts regular inspection of makeup rooms – ensures that standard room amenities are in place; rooms are free of safety hazards; checks if there is anything that needs repair or corrective action.
  • Ensures the proper use, storage, and maintenance of linens and cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies
  • Coordinates closely with the Front Office regarding room status and changes of bookings and other guests' requirements
  • Monitors the daily preparation of rooms blocked for arriving guests and other requirements, like extra beds, extra towels, etc

To be successful in this role the candidate shall possess the following:

  • Graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM)
  • Bachelor's Degree in any hospitality management field will be accepted
  • Minimum of 1 year in the capacity of Front Office Supervisor
  • Housekeeping supervisor experience is acceptable in place of front office supervisor experience
  • Knowledgeable in handling operations, and Performance Evaluation Management
  • Australian work authorisation is required for this position
  • Good written and spoken English communication skills are required for this supervisory role
