Job Description Summary

Provides ongoing Systems Administration support including installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of hardware, software, applications and connectivity components. Provides technical support and advises on the use of programming tools, database systems and networks. Provides support to address availability and reliability issues on various systems across multiple locations.

Key Qualifications

BA/BS degree and minimum of 5 years' relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience

Key Responsibilities:

Server & System Management

·       Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems (Windows server).

·       Apply OS patches, updates, and security fixes.

·       Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues.

·       Manage virtual machines (Hyper-V)

Network Administration

·       Monitor bandwidth and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

·       Ensure proper DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing.

User & Access Management

·       Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts.

·       Manage permissions, group policies, and authentication.

Security & Compliance

·       Implement  endpoint protection

·       Manage backups and disaster recovery plans.

Backup & Disaster Recovery

·       Schedule and monitor regular backups.

·       Test restore procedures.

·       Handle disaster recovery if systems crash.

Automation & Optimization

·       Write scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to automate tasks.

·       Monitor logs and alerts for proactive maintenance.

·       Improve performance by tuning servers and databases.

Key Skills:

Operating Systems: Windows Server (Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell)

Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Subnetting

Virtualization: Hyper-V

Security: Patch management, Antivirus, endpoint protection, auditing, Access control and role-based permissions

Scripting & Automation: PowerShell (Windows)

Database Basics: Understanding of SQL Server
