About the Role
The Quality Manager is responsible for advocating a culture of quality excellence within the manufacturing facility, upholding stringent quality standards, driving transformative quality change, fostering a continuous improvement mindset, and elevating the plant's quality performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Quality Leadership & Culture Change:
- Act as a key driver of cultural transformation, promoting a proactive, "quality-first" mindset across all departments, from engineering and production to supply chain and other support functions.
- Lead and inspire cross-functional teams to embrace continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance product quality, reduce waste, improve yield, reduce scrap cost, and optimize processes.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive quality training programs for all employees to enhance understanding and adherence to quality standards.
- Establish and monitor key quality metrics (KPIs) and regularly report on performance to management, identifying areas for improvement and benchmarking successes.
- Champion 5S improvement initiatives through regular audits and Quality Gemba walks.
- Develop, implement and maintain a robust Quality Management System (ISO9001) and potentially Environment Management System (ISO14001) tailored to the precision manufacturing of capillary bonding tools
Ø Hands-on Quality Assurance & Control:
- Oversee all aspects of quality assurance and control, including incoming material inspection, in-process quality control, final product inspection and outgoing finished goods shipment.
- Actively pursue thorough root cause analysis for quality deviations, non-conformances, and internal defects, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead and conduct the investigation of customer complaints, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions using the 8D process. Ensure that reports to customers are thorough, timely, and actions are effective
- Manage and optimize the calibration program for all critical measurement and test equipment.
- Develop and maintain robust control plans, FMEAs, and other quality documentation relevant to capillary manufacturing.
- Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to ensure quality and manufacturability, identifying and mitigating potential quality risks of new product introductions.
- Conduct internal, and if necessary, external audits (supplier audits) to ensure compliance with QMS requirements and process standards.
Ø Team Leadership & Development:
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing quality team, fostering a collaborative and accountable environment.
- Provide strong leadership, guidance, and technical expertise to direct reports and other team members.
- Empower employees at all levels to identify quality issues and contribute to solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing preferred) or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in Quality Management roles within a manufacturing environment, with significant experience assembly or in precision component manufacturing, ideally semiconductors, electronics, or tools.
- Proven hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 mandatory or similar industry-specific standards a strong plus).
- Demonstrated expertise in quality methodologies and tools (e.g., Six Sigma Black/Green Belt, Lean Manufacturing, SPC, MSA, FMEA, 8D, PPAP).
- A verifiable track record of successfully leading and driving cultural change initiatives within an organization.
- Exceptional leadership, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Possess a high degree of critical thinking
- Proficiency in relevant software and quality management tools.
- Experience in dealing directly with end customers is an advantage.
