Job Summary

The Office Engineer supports the project and operations team in the planning, documentation, and coordination of metal fabrication projects. This role ensures that project schedules, materials, and documentation are well-managed and aligned with client and production requirements.


Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning and Monitoring

  • Assist in preparing project timelines, work schedules, and progress tracking.
  • Monitor project milestones and report any delays or potential bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate with production and design teams to ensure fabrication schedules are met.
  • Maintain updated project status reports for management review.

2. Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare, review, and organize project-related documents such as drawings, material lists, and transmittals.
  • Maintain records of design revisions, approvals, and correspondence.
  • Assist in the preparation of QA/QC documentation and progress billings.
  • Ensure all reports are properly filed and readily available for audit or reference.

3. Financial and Procurement Support

  • Assist in preparing cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and material requests.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for quotations and material deliveries.
  • Support the preparation of purchase requests and project budgets.
  • Monitor consumption of materials and verify against project requirements.

4. Coordination and Communication

  • Serve as a liaison between design, production, and site teams.
  • Facilitate clear communication between internal departments and external clients.
  • Attend coordination meetings and provide project updates as required.
  • Support the Project/Operations Manager in implementing project directives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field.
  • With at least 1–3 years experience in metal fabrication, construction, or related industries (fresh graduates are welcome).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office (Excel, Word, Project).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Preferred Skills
  • Background in project documentation and quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with metal fabrication materials and processes.
  • Basic knowledge of estimating and procurement procedures.
