Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer with hands-on experience in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting and optimizing SMT manufacturing processes, improving equipment efficiency, implementing quality improvements, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and reduce production costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and optimize SMT manufacturing processes.
- Provide technical support for SMT assembly lines including setup, troubleshooting, maintenance, and process improvement.
- Evaluate and implement new equipment, tools, and technologies to enhance SMT production capability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and test engineering teams to ensure manufacturability of PCB designs.
- Monitor process performance using metrics (e.g., yield, cycle time, OEE) and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for process-related issues.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation.
- Participate in NPI (New Product Introduction) activities, ensuring smooth transition from prototype to full-scale production.
- Conduct time studies, line balancing, and layout improvements for SMT lines.
- Train and support production personnel on SMT-related processes and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing engineering role with a strong focus on SMT processes.
- Proven knowledge of SMT equipment.
- Experience with PCB design review for manufacturability and SMT assembly process design.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Working Conditions:
- Office and factory floor environment.
- Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and lift moderate weights when necessary.
