  • Assess the situation: Quickly and calmly evaluate the scene to determine the cause, identify potential dangers, and assess the number and condition of casualties.
  • Protect yourself and others: Ensure personal safety and the safety of others from any immediate dangers.
  • Provide immediate care: Give immediate care using first aid skills, which may include CPR, using an AED, controlling bleeding, or supporting a fractured limb.
  • Maintain the casualty's condition: Keep the patient calm, comfortable, and reassured. Place an unconscious person in the recovery position and monitor their condition.
  • Arrange for professional help: Call for emergency services (like an ambulance) or other appropriate professional medical help when necessary.
  • Communicate effectively: Clearly communicate essential information about the incident and the casualty's condition to emergency responders.
  • Record details: Document the incident and the actions taken.
