Position Overview

The Assistant Restaurant Manager (ARM) plays a vital support role in ensuring smooth daily restaurant operations, delivering great customer experiences, and helping to drive performance and profitability for Pound Flatterie.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Duties

  • Support the Restaurant Manager with opening and closing duties, following structured shift checklists.
  • Oversee service standards, including greeting guests, managing floor operations, supervising table setups, and ensuring cleanliness of dining and back-of-house areas.
  • Assist with inventory management and procurement, including restocking equipment and supplies, and supporting vendor and contract management.
  • Assist in financial tasks, such as scheduling (rotas), balancing cash registers, processing payroll, recording daily sales, and helping control costs to support profitability.

Team & Guest Management

  • Support in recruiting, onboarding, and training new front-of-house staff. Conduct staff briefings and ensure team alignment with service standards. Recruiting

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards throughout the restaurant.
  • Conduct regular checks to maintain hygiene, employee appearance, and compliance with policies.
  • Help supervise staff performance, coach team members, and maintain high morale and guest-centric service.
  • Act as a point of contact for guest feedback, complaints, and inquiries, ensuring prompt, professional resolutions and high satisfaction.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • At least 1–3 years of supervisory experience in restaurant or food-service settings.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a proactive, guest-centric mindset.
  • Solid organizational and multitasking ability—ideal for handling scheduling, vendor coordination, and service standards.
  • Basic financial acumen for cost control, scheduling optimization, and daily record-keeping.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and varied shifts depending on restaurant operations.
