Pre-Sales Engineer - Cloud Solutions

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Pre-Sales Engineer specializing in cloud solutions to join our growing team. This role requires a technical expert who can bridge the gap between our sales team and prospective clients, demonstrating the value and capabilities of cloud platforms including AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Alibaba Cloud.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Consultation & Solution Design

  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand client requirements and design tailored cloud solutions
  • Conduct technical discovery sessions with prospective clients to identify business challenges and technical needs
  • Develop comprehensive solution architectures and proposals that align with customer objectives
  • Create and deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts

Pre-Sales Support

  • Respond to RFPs and RFIs with detailed technical documentation
  • Provide technical expertise during client meetings, presentations, and workshops
  • Address technical questions and concerns throughout the sales cycle
  • Assist in sizing, scoping, and pricing of cloud solutions

Product Expertise

  • Maintain deep technical knowledge of AWS, GCP, and/or Alibaba Cloud services and capabilities
  • Stay current with cloud platform updates, new features, and industry best practices
  • Understand competitive positioning and differentiation across cloud providers
  • Evangelize cloud solutions and educate internal teams on technical capabilities

Customer Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with technical stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Conduct technical workshops and training sessions for prospective clients
  • Support post-sales teams during handover and implementation planning

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Alibaba Cloud)
  • 2+ years of experience in a pre-sales, solution architect, or technical consulting role
  • Proven track record of supporting complex cloud sales cycles
  • Experience working in the Philippines market is highly preferred

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure services (compute, storage, networking, databases)
  • Knowledge of cloud migration strategies and methodologies
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures
  • Understanding of cloud security, compliance, and governance frameworks
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)

Certifications
(at least one required)

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
  • Alibaba Cloud Certified Professional (ACP)
  • Other relevant cloud certifications are a plus

Soft Skills

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in English
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work across sales, engineering, and customer success teams
  • Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Experience with multi-cloud environments and hybrid cloud architectures
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of enterprise applications and digital transformation initiatives
  • Familiarity with the Philippines regulatory and compliance landscape
  • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.)
  • Tagalog or other local language proficiency is a plus
