The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day procurement activities of the company. This role ensures the timely, cost-effective, and efficient acquisition of goods, services, and supplies while maintaining quality standards and compliance with company policies. The Purchasing Supervisor also supervises the purchasing team, coordinates with suppliers, and collaborates with other departments to support operational requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities


•   Supervise and lead the purchasing team in handling procurement activities.


•   Develop and implement purchasing strategies to achieve cost savings and ensure timely delivery.


•   Review, evaluate, and approve purchase requisitions and orders.


•   Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and high-quality products/services.


•   Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure reliability and consistency in supply.


•   Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery delays, quality concerns, or contract terms.


•   Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, budget guidelines, and regulatory requirements.


•   Maintain accurate purchasing records, reports, and documentation for audit and tracking purposes.


•   Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.


•   Coordinate with various departments (operations, finance, warehouse, etc.) to determine purchasing needs and priorities.


•   Train, mentor, and evaluate purchasing staff to ensure professional growth and efficiency.


•   Participate in budget planning, forecasting, and procurement cost analysis.


•   Handle escalated issues or disputes with suppliers in a professional and timely manner.
