Job Title: Application Support Engineer (Java & SQL)

Non-Negotiable Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with Java and SQL
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a support role utilizing Java and SQL

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting Java-based applications, resolving production issues, and ensuring overall system stability and performance. This role demands strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical support for Java-based applications in both production and development environments
  • Monitor application performance; respond promptly to incidents, outages, and service requests
  • Analyze and resolve bugs, errors, and performance issues; collaborate with development teams on code fixes and enhancements
  • Maintain and update documentation related to support procedures and application configurations
  • Participate in root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to reduce recurring issues
  • Ensure compliance with security and operational standards
  • Support deployment activities, including code releases and configuration changes
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a support role working with Java and SQL
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Skills & Tools:

  • Programming Languages: Java, SQL
  • Databases: Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar relational databases
  • Version Control: Git, Bitbucket
  • Build & CI/CD Tools: Maven, Jenkins, Gradle
  • Monitoring Tools: Splunk, AppDynamics, New Relic, or similar
  • Ticketing & Incident Management: JIRA, ServiceNow
  • Operating Systems: Linux/Unix (basic shell scripting is a plus)
  • Web/Application Servers: Apache Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic (preferred)
  • Development Environment: IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, VS Code

Job Type: Temporary

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From Php30,000.00 per month
