What you'll be doing

  1. Manage the procurement of raw materials, components, and other supplies needed for manufacturing
  2. Develop and maintain effective inventory control systems to ensure timely availability of materials
  3. Liaise with suppliers to negotiate favourable terms, monitor delivery schedules, and resolve any issues
  4. Analyse consumption patterns and forecast future material requirements to optimise inventory levels
  5. Collaborate with production and logistics teams to coordinate the efficient distribution of materials
  6. Maintain accurate records and generate reports on inventory, procurement, and material usage
  7. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the supply chain

What we're looking for

  1. experience in a materials management or procurement role within the manufacturing, transport, or logistics industry
  2. Strong understanding of inventory control principles, supply chain management, and materials planning
  3. Proficient in data analysis, forecasting, and the use of relevant software (e.g., ERP, inventory management systems)
  4. Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
  5. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and vendors
  6. Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred
