Structural Engineer

We're looking to recruit a professional, and experienced Senior Structural Engineer with experience in structural steelwork to complement our established team of designers and Tekla CAD technicians, as well as working with our incumbent third party structural engineering consultants on UK based projects. Additional training will also be offered.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing calculations and analyses proportional to the maturity of the project phase to guide the design
  • Ability to work independently and direct a design team
  • Liaising with external agencies regarding the structural integrity of the product
  • Producing and maintaining a series of design rules to allow rationalization of designs in line with known good structural design
  • Developing connections design in Idea-StatiCa software
  • Design Steel framed structures in Tekla Structural Designer
  • Producing calculations, documents, and reports to detail approaches to design work and support decision making
  • Challenging the design, operational team and working practices to support achievement of the primary role

Essential Experience:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • Experience working to Eurocodes UK based projects
  • 5 Years experience in Structural Steelwork
  • Microsoft competence
  • Familiar with AutoCAD Tekla Structural Designer & Idea StatiCa
  • Strong communication & negotiation skills
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Familiar with appropriate manufacturing process
