Job Summary
The Central Food Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of food safety systems across all manufacturing facilities. This role ensures strict compliance with internal standards, Philippine food regulations, and global food safety schemes (HACCP, FSSC 22000, GFSI, FSMA). The position acts as the subject matter expert on food safety, provides technical direction to plant food safety teams, and supports audit readiness and incident management efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS):
Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of food safety management systems in alignment with HACCP, FSSC 22000, GMP, and other relevant global standards.
Review and update policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory and certification requirements.
- Regulatory and Standards Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to Philippine FDA, DA-BAI/NMIS, GMP, and international food safety standards (e.g., FSMA, Codex Alimentarius).
Stay up-to-date with evolving food safety laws, regulations, and best practices, and communicate changes to relevant departments.
- Audit and Inspection Readiness:
Prepare and lead internal and external food safety audits, including third-party certifications and regulatory inspections.
Develop corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in response to audit findings and ensure timely closure of identified gaps.
- Incident Management and Root Cause Analysis:
Oversee food safety incident investigations, including product recalls, contamination cases, and non-conformance issues.
Facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Training and Capability Building:
Conduct food safety training programs for plant personnel, promoting awareness, accountability, and compliance with company standards.
Serve as a mentor and technical advisor to site food safety teams to enhance their skills and performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Operations, Quality Assurance, R&D, Procurement, and Engineering to ensure food safety principles are integrated into daily operations, new product development, and supplier management.
Provide expert guidance during product design, manufacturing process improvements, and equipment commissioning.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Establish and monitor food safety KPIs, including audit scores, non-conformance rates, and incident trends.
Present regular reports and recommendations to management on food safety performance, risk assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in food safety management within a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
- Certified HACCP Practitioner; additional certifications such as FSSC 22000, BRC, or SQF are highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Philippine regulatory agencies (FDA, DA-BAI/NMIS) and international food safety regulations (FSMA, Codex Alimentarius).
- Proven hands-on experience in managing third-party audits, regulatory inspections, and incident investigations.
- Proficient in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), corrective and preventive action (CAPA) systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Must be willing to be based in Novaliches and travel to other facilities as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php50, Php80,000.00 per month
