The Credit and MIS Officer is responsible for the implementation of the trust credit process, from initiation stage up to the credit granting process. As part of due diligence, he/she assesses the creditworthiness of issuer/borrower/counterparty that Trust and Wealth Management will deal with using prescribed criteria and form, by evaluating audited financial statements, and by assessing the external environment, such as economic, political, regulatory and industry factors. As a result of the evaluation, he/she recommends acceptable investment outlets/issues/counterparties to the Trust Committee for appropriate approval. He/she also conducts periodic reviews of all issuers/borrowers/counterparties.

The position is also in-charge of MIS reports like Trust com and Investment committee reports, and other ad-hoc reports needed for strategic planning purposes.

Credit Evaluation

  • Conduct credit evaluation using prescribed criteria and form, Credit Risk Evaluation Sheet (CRES).
  • Prepare Credit report/study using the result of the CRES including financial analysis of counterparties, prospective borrowers or debt/stock issuers; analysis of economic, political, regulatory, and industry factors; and evaluation of latest audited financial statements to establish financial strengths and weaknesses
  • Exercise appropriate due diligence (e.g. credit checking)
  • Ensure availability of an internal risk rating based on set criteria/standards of the bank proper for validation of own CRES and or supporting document, as may be necessary
  • Create credit proposal through a memo for approval of the Trust Committee to be able to participate in investment outlets on behalf of Trust and Wealth Management's customers
  • Determine deviations, amendments, or deficiencies noted
  • Conduct periodic account reviews of outstanding investment and loan portfolios of Trust and Wealth Management, including active counterparties
  • Conduct periodic review of existing accounts and counterparties and recommend whether or not to continue with the relationship
  • Observe established operational controls and procedures prescribed by Trust and Wealth Management and policies of the Bank
  • Ensure that relevant policies and processes related to credit review are updated and aligned with the current policies of the Bank

MIS/Reports

  • Prepare reports and communications to the Trust Committee and other committees as necessary
  • Provide research support to Trust Management
  • Prepare other reports as necessary

Risk Management

  • Maintain records in a confidential manner
  • Observe established operational controls and procedures and comply with the Bank's policies and regulatory issuances at all times
  • Report risk concerns to Trust Management on a timely manner

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in any business-related course
  • At least 2 years' experience in Banking, Finance, Trust, Portfolio Management, Treasury or Wealth Management Services.
