Position Overview

We're seeking an RCM Operations Manager who will manage and optimize the full revenue cycle—from payer contracting and credentialing to intake, prior authorizations, claim submission, denial management, and payment posting. This role requires a balance between performing hands-on operational tasks (e.g., intake processing, phone support) and driving strategic improvements in team performance, reporting, automation, and staffing coordination. You'll also collaborate closely with the CTO to enhance operational efficiency through automation.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Execution

  • Oversee and support all areas of RCM, including credentialing, client intake, prior authorizations, claims submission, denial resolution, and payment posting.
  • Actively participate in operational workflow—e.g., handling client inquiries, intake tasks, and issue escalation—while simultaneously steering improvements.
  • Monitor utilization and operational metrics to determine when staffing growth or process adjustments are needed.
  • Track key RCM KPIs: e.g. credentialing turnaround times, net collection rates, denial rates, cycle times, and team productivity.
  • Use these data insights to drive operational enhancements and elevate performance.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Partner closely with the CTO on automating manual workflows, enhancing system performance, and developing tools to streamline operations.
  • Design and document SOPs and best practices to elevate process consistency, accuracy, turnaround times, and collection outcomes.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as the internal RCM expert—responding to client or provider inquiries, assisting with payer issues, and supporting intake alignment.
  • Present performance insights and improvement recommendations to leadership—including the CTO—to drive strategic alignment and decisions.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Startup experience preferred: experience working at fast paced, dynamic enviornments at technology companies that are growing significantly year over year requiring constant learning and adaptation.
  • Experience: 4–7+ years in healthcare revenue cycle operations, covering intake, credentialing, claims, denials, payment posting, and billing. Experience in both hands-on processing and operational leadership is preferred.
  • Reporting & Analytical Acumen: Proficient in building and interpreting dashboards and reports to monitor performance, identify trends, and guide improvements.
  • Process Optimization Mindset: Skilled in developing and enhancing operational workflows, including SOPs and automation in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable working with RCM or EHR systems and enhancing workflows through automation tools and process improvement frameworks.
  • Communication & Leadership: Excellent at cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder communication, and empowering teams to adopt best practices.
