Skills and Qualifications:

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field is typically required.  A technical certifications or relevant experience in drainage and civil inspection may also be accepted.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in civil inspection or road construction, particularly related to drainage systems, is an advantage.
  • Willing to be assigned or deployed in project site SLEX-TR4 (Batangas, Laguna and Quezon).

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with drainage system design and construction techniques.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering codes and local construction regulations, particularly for drainage systems.
  • Proficient in using basic engineering tools, inspection equipment, and software for documentation and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inspection of Drainage Systems:

  • Inspect drainage systems at various stages of construction to ensure compliance with the approved plans and specifications.
  • Verify that drainage installations meet local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
  • Conduct site inspections to assess the functionality and condition of existing drainage systems.

2. Monitoring Construction Work:

  • Monitor the installation of drainage pipes, culverts, manholes, and other related infrastructure.
  • Ensure proper alignment, level, and slope for effective water flow.
  • Check for proper backfilling, compaction, and covering of installed drainage components.

3. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, including the condition of the drainage systems, any issues identified, and work completed.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and submit them to senior inspectors or engineers.
  • Document deviations from the project plans and recommend corrective actions.

4. Quality Control and Safety:

  • Verify that all materials used in drainage construction comply with specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure that safety protocols are adhered to by workers on-site.
  • Identify any potential safety hazards related to drainage work and recommend solutions.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with senior civil engineers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure the smooth execution of drainage-related tasks.
  • Communicate regularly with contractors and workers to resolve issues related to drainage work.
  • Assist in the coordination of site logistics and drainage system installation timelines.

6. Problem Solving:

  • Identify potential drainage issues or non-compliance with specifications early in the project and escalate to senior staff when necessary.
  • Assist in troubleshooting drainage issues such as blockages, flooding, or poor water flow in existing systems.
