Profile Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of proven experience working as a drafts person in a professional environment, ideally within the relevant industry (e.g., architecture, engineering, or construction)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, including tools like AutoCAD,ArchiCAD Revit, or other discipline-specific platforms
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce clear, precise, and accurate technical drawings that meet specified requirements
  • Solid understanding of construction techniques, engineering principles, and material properties relevant to the drafting discipline
  • Ability to read, interpret, and translate architectural and engineering specifications into technical drawings
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects within tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented mindset and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments
  • Familiarity with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance in all drawings and documentation

Core responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and detailed technical drawings and blueprints based on initial concepts, sketches, and design specifications provided by architects or engineers
  • Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes, client feedback, or site modifications throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure drawings meet project goals and technical requirements
  • Ensure all drafted documents comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards to avoid compliance issues
  • Develop and maintain 2D and 3D models using industry-standard CAD software such as AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks, depending on project type
  • Organize and maintain drawing files, version control systems, and document logs to support accurate record keeping and efficient project management
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation required for council approvals, construction permits, and tender submissions
  • Participate in design and coordination meetings to present drafting progress, resolve technical issues, and support collaborative problem-solving
