Job Description

We are seeking an experienced
Technical Manager – Thermal Power Plant
to oversee engineering operations, plant performance, and technical reliability. This role will be responsible for optimizing generation output, leading maintenance strategies, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. The Technical Manager will work closely with plant operations, maintenance, and corporate engineering teams to drive technical excellence and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all technical and engineering functions of the thermal power plant
  • Monitor and optimize plant performance, heat rate efficiency, and reliability metrics
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to minimize downtime
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards (DOE, ERC, DENR, etc.)
  • Review and approve technical procedures, engineering designs, and maintenance plans
  • Lead root cause analysis and performance improvement initiatives across plant systems
  • Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, and regulatory bodies for inspections and technical audits
  • Provide technical leadership and coaching to engineering and maintenance teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Engineering (licensed engineer preferred)
  • 8–12 years of experience in thermal power plant engineering or operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or technical lead role
  • Strong knowledge of power plant systems including boilers, turbines, generators, and balance-of-plant equipment
  • Proven experience in plant performance optimization, maintenance planning, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Philippine power sector regulations and compliance requirements
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Based in the Philippines with flexibility to be stationed onsite at plant location
