To manage one to two product categories with minimal supervision in terms of initiatives delivery, product directions and developmental design strategies in accordance to defined goals and measures for product and/or process development requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCommunication
- Coordinates and communicates with respective business partners, as aligned with superior, all technical updates related to projects handled and restricted to own category.
Accountabilities
- Contributes and develops technical strategies and provides inputs to the business strategy of the products/projects being managed.
- Provides recommendations on policies or procedures to the team or function in setting technical strategies based on available data and information.
- Project management from concept development to final product normalization.
- Prepares detailed project plans for his/her own projects, budget, timelines, and resource requirements for the product category assigned, documents all technical requirements related to product manual, product registration and other regulatory requirements.
- Applies the basic and specialized tests required in the conduct of product and/or process development and gathers all pertinent information, analyzes, and interprets data required in setting-up product specifications and as basis for continuous improvement of own projects/category handled.
- Leads product assessment/reviews as against government regulations and corporate standards for product, package, process, product safety and quality.
- Evaluates emerging technologies and market-based trends in own category and assesses implications and applies to current portfolio in product, package and process development and optimization.
- Reviews and provides recommendation on material qualification. Performs third party qualification and provides recommendation. Coordinates and communicates with CPG on material / technical / facility requirements.
- Leads technical reviews within R&D/QA and Manufacturing on projects handled.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Authority
- Technical authority on projects being handled related to product development requirements.
Experience / Expertise
- Minimum of five (5) years related work experience in a manufacturing organization.
- Minimum two (2) years' work experience in food manufacturing industry with expertise in product development and process & technology innovation.
- Prior experience in handling beverage products is preferred.
- Digital savvy
Mandatory Trainings
- Complies to 5S, 6S, GMP, HACCP and FSMS requirements.
Skills / Competencies
- Proficient in the use of the basic MS Office Application.
- Sound understanding of concepts and principles in own technical area and a basic understanding in others.
- In-depth understanding of the industry and a basic knowledge of its direct competitor's strategies.
- Good understanding and ability to analyze financials of the category.
- Developed communication skills, both oral and written, to exchange complex information even outside of the department.
- Team oriented, business team involvement, with in-depth understanding of how own area integrates within the sub-function.
- Entrepreneurial mindset.
Internal Relations
- Collaborates and works with other functions such as QA/TQM, Manufacturing, Marketing, CPG, Market Research, CBD and Finance in the development and commercialization phase of his/her projects.
- Provides technical leadership on cross functional teams.
External Relations
- Interface with the following external groups: material suppliers, third party manufacturers, testing laboratories, industry organizations, technology and equipment suppliers, government and research institutes, consumer research agencies and food application consultants.
- Coordinates work as a technical team leader and responsible for the completion and quality of output.
- Has technical authority on projects being handled related to product/process development requirements.
- Contributes to technical direction of the projects and coordinates work as a team leader and responsible for the completion and quality of output.
- Has technical authority on projects being handled related to product development requirements.
- May have supervisory responsibilities.
- Analytical thought needed to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations, with minimum supervision.
- Knows how and where to get the correct information, selects appropriate alternative sources of information, and utilizes them to evaluate situations, with minimum supervision.
