Web Developer with WordPress and WooCommerce Expertise

We are looking for a skilled web developer (part-time/consult-based) who loves coding and turning sketches into sharp, fast, and beautiful sites. This role spans from idea to launch and includes everything from WordPress/WooCommerce to API integrations and other fun tasks. It's consult-based from time to time, great for sideline work, with remote options across the Philippines or hybrid in Manila.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and design websites and e-commerce solutions with high performance and UX.
• Implement new features/technologies in close collaboration with the team.
• Work fullstack (frontend + backend) for complete solutions.
• Optimize speed, accessibility, and SEO hygiene.
• Collaborate with designers/strategists for pixel-perfect quality in every delivery.
• Drive own web projects and have client contact.
• Build websites in WordPress, including installing WordPress, plugins/themes, developing custom plugins, and maintaining/upgrading.
• Integrate, develop, and maintain solutions from external applications via APIs.
• Develop and maintain PHP- and MySQL-based systems with custom backend/frontend solutions.
• Develop e-commerce solutions in WooCommerce, including payment flows, inventory, etc.

Additional Tasks:

• Plan and estimate development time in projects.
• Deliver on time and with a sense of humor (we have coffee).

Qualifications:

• Experience building sites in WordPress: Installing, customizing plugins/themes based on designs/mockups, developing maintainable themes, maintaining/upgrading, and creating custom plugins.
• Minimum of 3-4 years of WordPress development experience is required.
• Integrating/developing/maintaining external solutions via APIs.
• Extensive experience in API integration and development is required.
• Developing/maintaining PHP/MySQL systems with custom solutions.
• E-commerce development in WooCommerce (payments, inventory).
• Prior WooCommerce e-commerce development experience is mandatory.
• Meritorious: Cloud (e.g., AWS/Azure), CI/CD, agile methods (Scrum/Kanban), Drupal/Joomla, Linux/Unix (Ubuntu).
• Fluent in English (Swedish a plus for client contact).
• Social, independent, with good planning skills and a dry sense of humor.
