Job Description:

  • Teruel Law, a full service firm, is looking for associate lawyers which will handle civil, criminal, and administrative cases pending before the courts and other government agencies;
  • Associate lawyers will also handle client consultations and will give legal advice or recommendations on behalf of the Firm.
  • Draft and sign pleadings on behalf of the Firm: including complaints, petitions, pre-trial briefs, judicial affidavits, trial memorandums and various motions which will be filed in trial and appellate courts, and also other government agencies;
  • Represent the Firm's clients at [court and various] hearings and meetings.
  • Associate lawyers will also handle online legislative work and pro bono cases under the Office of the City Councilor Hon. Gerard Teruel of Calamba City, Laguna.

Qualifications:

  • For Associate Lawyers, must be a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, however, UNDERBAR ASSOCIATES are again also welcome to apply.
  • For Associate Lawyers, must be MCLE compliant if applicant has already been in practice for more than three (3) years (subsequent MCLE compliance will be shouldered by the Firm);
  • Willing to work in the Makati office and during certain days, be assigned in committee hearings or legislative meetings in Calamba City, Laguna;
  • Willing to attend hearings in various trial courts and [quasi-judicial] government agencies, City Council hearings;
  • Can adjust to the pressures of litigation and legislative practice;
  • If the [accepted] applicant is not yet a Notary Public of Makati City or Calamba City, the Firm will apply for the associate lawyer's commission.

Associate lawyers/ underbar associates who will successfully refer client/s to the Firm will be given profit share on the said file/s or case/s. Family cases of [accepted] applicants may be accepted by the Firm, pro bono.
