Role Summary
The Social Media Producer plays a critical role in bringing RMN Network News to life on digital platforms. He/ She will be responsible for producing, publishing, and managing engaging content before, during, and after our live newscasts, ensuring that the reach and impact of our journalism extend beyond traditional broadcast. This role will work closely with the reporters, regional correspondents, newsroom producers, Digital, and DZXL team to highlight breaking news, local stories, and viral moments in real time—while growing and engaging our digital audience.
Key Responsibilities
Live Coverage & Breaking News
• Clip and post key moments from the live program in real-time (e.g., breaking news updates, exclusive interviews, regional reports).
• Publish urgent updates and verify information in coordination with the editorial team.
• Ensure that newscast live broadcast is shared across all provincial pages.
Daily Social Media Content
• Create original social media content including news graphics, headlines, short videos, and live snippets.
• Write compelling, clear, and audience-appropriate captions and headlines with the help and approval of the News Desk Editor.
• Repurpose radio and TV content for digital platforms while maintaining accuracy and integrity.
Regional & Community Engagement
• Amplify stories from RMN's provincial stations and local reporters by turning regional reports into social-first content.
• Actively monitor and engage with comments, discussions, and regional audience feedback.
• Spotlight local heroes, viral stories, or urgent community concerns.
Content Planning
• Coordinate with the editorial team to prepare teaser content ahead of broadcasts
• Help plan social media series, special reports, and coverage of major national events or holidays.
Analytics & Reporting
• Track content performance across platforms using analytics tools
• Regularly report on growth, engagement, and what types of content are resonating with our audience.
• Suggest improvements based on data and audience feedback.
Qualifications & Skills
Must-Haves:
• Experience in news, broadcasting, or digital media production.
• Strong knowledge of Philippine current affairs, especially regional news and government beats.
• Proficiency in social media platforms and best practices for each.
• Strong Tagalog and English writing skills; Cebuano/Bisaya is a big plus.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments and make editorial decisions quickly.
• Creative mindset with an eye for strong visuals and storytelling.
