Job Summary

The Materials Engineer is responsible for applying materials science principles to support product development, manufacturing processes, and quality improvement initiatives. The role focuses on materials characterization, process optimization, and failure analysis to ensure product reliability, performance, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and analyze raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Conduct materials characterization and testing (e.g., mechanical, thermal, chemical, or electrical properties).
  • Perform failure analysis and root cause investigation related to materials or process issues.
  • Support process optimization, yield improvement, and defect reduction initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, R&D, and Production teams on technical projects.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations.
  • Support supplier qualification, material validation, and change management activities.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, R&D, or laboratory environment (electronics manufacturing experience is an advantage).
  • Strong knowledge of materials properties, structure, and processing.
  • Experience with laboratory testing and analysis techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in electronics, semiconductor, ceramics, or magnetic materials manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with materials characterization tools (e.g., SEM, XRD, EDS, DSC, TGA).
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and quality tools.
  • Proficient in MS Excel; experience with data analysis software is an advantage.
