Christie Migration Agents (CMA) is a boutique Australian migration practice specialising in employer-sponsored and skilled visas, citizenship, and Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) appeals. We are seeking an experienced Migration Assistant to join our team in a remote role supporting clients throughout their visa journey.
About the Role
You will work closely with our clients from the moment they sign up through to visa grant, ensuring files are managed to the highest professional standard.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing client files from onboarding through to finalisation.
- Liaising directly with clients to request and review documents.
- Drafting visa applications, forms, and correspondence.
- Analysing documents against visa requirements and compliance obligations.
- Assisting with the preparation of persuasive legal submissions.
- Communicating with the Department of Home Affairs, skills assessing authorities, and other external stakeholders.
- Maintaining accurate records in the CRM.
About You
We are looking for someone who can confidently step into the role with:
- Legal experience — background in migration law, another area of law, or legal support.
- Superior English skills — excellent written and spoken communication.
- Confident communicator — able to engage professionally on the phone and by email with:
- Australian clients and stakeholders, and
- clients from diverse cultural backgrounds who may not have English as their first language.
- Minimum 2 years' experience working remotely — proven ability to self-manage, stay disciplined, and deliver outcomes in a virtual environment.
- Attention to detail — accuracy is critical in migration work.
- Ability to learn quickly — comfortable with complex requirements and new systems.
- Proactive communication skills — responsive, clear, and professional.
- Organisational skills — able to manage multiple files with competing deadlines.
Experience with Australian visas is highly desirable, though training will be provided.
A clean police check is required
Salary will be dependent on experience
