Job Overview

The Pollution Control Officer (PCO) ensures the company's compliance with environmental laws and regulations, manages pollution prevention programs, monitors environmental performance, and supports sustainable operations. This role involves regulatory reporting, waste management, emergency response planning, and employee environmental training.

Key Responsibilities
1. Environmental Compliance
  • Monitor adherence to national and local environmental laws.
  • Ensure compliance with air, water, waste, and noise emission standards.
  • Manage environmental permits and government submissions.
2. Pollution Prevention & Monitoring
  • Conduct regular monitoring of air, water, and waste.
  • Inspect emission sources and pollution control equipment.
  • Ensure proper operation of treatment facilities.
3. Environmental Reporting
  • Prepare compliance reports for government agencies.
  • Generate internal environmental performance reports.
  • Maintain accurate environmental records.
4. Waste Management
  • Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • Coordinate with accredited waste transporters and treatment facilities.
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and documentation.
5. Emergency Response
  • Develop plans for chemical spills, leaks, or environmental accidents.
  • Provide guidance on emergency procedures and reporting.
6. Training & Awareness
  • Conduct environmental training for employees.
  • Promote recycling, energy conservation, and safe chemical handling.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.
  • Technical skills in air, water, and waste management.
  • Reporting, documentation, audit, and inspection abilities.
  • Emergency response knowledge.
  • ISO 14001 knowledge is an advantage.
  • English proficiency; Tagalog and Visayan are a plus.
Work Environment
  • Close coordination with manufacturing teams.
  • Participation in environmental audits and inspections.
  • Active involvement in sustainability initiatives and training programs.
