POSITION SUMMARY:

The Plumber efficiently undertakes a variety of plumbing tasks ranging from fixing leakages to installing pipes such as water line, airline and steam line

A successful plumber must have a thorough knowledge of waterline, airline and steam line systems. They are patient individuals with a practical mind and manual skills, able to work efficiently with great attention to detail.

The goal is to install and maintain well-functioning systems that transport air, water, waste, gases or hot liquids

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Read blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal, airlines, water and steam supply systems

  2. Perform installation of plumbing systems at new projects and properties

  3. Inspect previously installed plumbing systems.

  4. Carry out regular maintenance of plumbing systems.

  5. Perform any necessary repairs to previously installed systems (e.g. airlines, waterlines, steam lines etc.)

  6. Answer calls for plumbing issues from different departments.

  7. Work carefully to ensure that all installed systems pass inspections.

  8. Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets etc.

  9. Provide information regarding plumbing activities to end users.

  10. Operate welding machine for the fabrication of pipe brackets and pipe joints.

  11. Keep the workplace clean and safe.

  12. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma from a trade school or successful completion of apprenticeship
  • Valid license to practice profession
  • Know how to use plumbing tools such as pipe wrench, pipe treader, pipe cutter etc.
  • Minimum two years' work experience as a plumber is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of water distribution, air pipelines and disposal systems in residential, commercial and industrial buildings
